I have uploaded two videos to show that vertical mounting is better in Perth Western Australia. The Multanova 6F in Perth is horizontally polarized so mounting your radar detector vertically works best. This is the other video of the same pass on the same multinova.. Horizontal mounting, it only detected it shortly after the turn. Detection is nearly halved, not leaving much stopping time.

I have used them to switch between 2 head units, I blacked out the lights with one switch on a bounty hunter’s car, and used a relay once to disengage cruise controll triggered by an aftermarket radar detector.
